Great shop for Indian essentials. Their vegetables are fresh and goes so quickly because of the quality. However, the snacks are often past their expiry date and have a sticker on top of it to cover this. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you need anything and it isn’t available, you can request it and they provide it by a specified date (but not everything, just the things that they usually restock but it does cover most Indian essentials). I love getting the frozen samosas and kulfis here since they make for great party food. Many of my non-Indian friends have also requested me to take them here for various items.

Not good. High prices, overpriced everything. Vegetables are old, looks like expired or close to expiry. Not recommended.

Produt price as in other Indian store in other cities. Good service. ? for the billing system. You will have better idea on the product prices you are buying. Especially in the case of Vegetables. Hoping to have more varieties of vegetables.

Sidhu Grocery Store is also known as Indian store.

Location - it is conveniently located close to city center on Hauptstrasse (right opposite to the passage entrance of Kaufland & Tedi)

People - The owners running the store are very friendly, easy to talk and always ready to help. They regularly ask the customers to write down things that are not currently in stock but they would want the store to keep

There are 4 distinct sections of the store:

Fresh Vegetables / Fruits section --> Fresh veggies and fruits are imported from India every week. The bhindi (okra), drumsticks, arvi, lauki, bitter gourd are always fresh. If you go too late in the week then veggies might finish (like I've never managed to get methi because it always gets over by the time I reach). The produce is sourced from a good place and is fresh and tasty

Frozen / Refrigeration section --> There is an interesting range of frozen parathas and Indian ready to cook snacks like samosa. Also the the paneer that you get here in pre-packed slabs is very tasty (i've observed its made and sourced from within europe)

Snack foods --> There is a range of indian branded and flavoured biscuits, cookies, namkeens, toast, farsan, maggie, fryums, chips, mango pulp, chyawanprash etc that you get here along with a small section dedicated to asian cuisine

Staples --> You can get all your staples requirements from this store, rice, lentils, wheat flour, oil, ghee, aachaar, tea etc

Other --> If you are missing friends from back home, you will also get Old Monk and Kingfisher beer 🙂 also recently have seen innovative fruit alcohol like Mango liquor which you can buy. During festivals there are special pooja boxes that you can buy

Tip --> Fresh vegetables & fruits arrive every Wednesday so you might want to visit soon otherwise they tend to get over soon

Improvement idea --> From outside, many a times the store seems to be closed or devoid of activity. I feel the main reason for that is the store entrance and area around entrance is a little dull, there need be brighter lights that need to be put in this area to draw in people and maybe a prominent & permanent sign board would also help!

In my experience this is the first Indian store where they have mentioned the prices along the racks of products. Store is quite big and most of the Indian groceries are available along with few popular catalogue itsems.

Very nice Indian shop. It is one of the best in Erlangen. The vegetable section can be improved. And they can also increase the fish section.
